Benoquin cream, sometimes referred to as monobenzone, is a depigmenting medication used to treat vitiligo and other diseases. It functions by causing the skin in vitiligo-affected areas to permanently brighten. It is not advised to use Benoquin cream for general skin lightening, especially for people with oily and dark skin.

This is the reason why:

1. Depigmentation: Benoquin is meant to be used for particular skin disorders and is specifically created for this purpose. If used for general skin whitening, it may cause unwanted side effects and uneven skin tone.
2. Possible negative Effects: Redness, itching, and irritation are among the negative effects that might occur from benoquin. Dark-skinned people may be more susceptible to hypo- or hyperpigmentation following an inflammation.
3. Oily Skin: Using a depigmenting product like Benoquin can be difficult for people with oily skin.
